Public Safety Services Bureau
Public Safety Services Bureau
The Public Safety Services Bureau (PSSB) manages statewide planning of public safety communications and the State's 9-1-1 program.
The bureau organizes, plans, and works with local, state, tribal, federal and various public service agencies in the development and implementation of a statewide strategic plan for public safety communications. To that end, the Public Safety Services Bureau assists jurisdictions in identifying potential sources of funding for public safety communications infrastructure, makes recommendations on how to acquire funding, develops grant proposals, and evaluates other efforts to secure funding. In the past, PSSB served in a support role for the Interoperability Montana (IM) Project.
